The Finnish Watercolour Society Was founded in 1998 and has grown into a society of nearly 700 members nationwide. The members comprise both professional artists and amateurs. The purpose of the Society is to raise the recognition and appreciation of water-colour among artists and the general public as well as bring together artists and patrons. The Society organizes annually exhibitions, both on the national and local level. It also encourages members to form local groups. It organizes courses and actively promotes cooperation with “colleagues” in Estonia, Scandinavia and Russia.
